I've just discovered ZoomIt an amazing utility that is so useful I just had to share it!

ZoomIt is a Windows zoom and annotation utility. It allows you to zoom into your desktop using a keyboard shortcut. This is useful for people with visual impairments, during presentations, technical demonstrations or while creating screen casts or video tutorials.

The zoom level can be adjusted using your wheel mouse or the up and down arrow keys. When enabled you can pan the screen and with a left click draw on the screen.

The shortcut key can be customised and the pen width and colour can be defined.

ZoomIt was created by Mark Russinovich, is free to download and is available from the official Microsoft website.

It runs on Windows XP and higher and Windows Server 2003 and higher.

I run it on Windows 7 64-bit with no issues.
